Sunday Durian Cream Puffs


Ciao bella! I made this for my Mom-in-law for her birthday. [other people would bring cake instead of puff..aiyok!] and I really 'kembang' when everybody especially hubby loves the puffs to bit! :") :") hahaha

Saturday Baking Day!

The whole house woke up early except for Adam. He was the last one to dress up. Weird. [Usually, he woke up very early for milk and poo poo] Maybe he was just too tired. 

Anyway, we drove to AMK McCafe to have our breakfast. I've been craving the Big Breakfast's scrambled egg like forever, but planned to have it with the hot cakes, not muffin. When Hubby asked me, "What you want?". I simply replied "Pancakes", without even thinking that's there are many  "pancakes' menu on the board. 

When i get my order, I simply huh? 3 big Hotcakes on the table. I asked him," What's this? I asked for Pancakes?". Duuh.. I wasn't even think when I asked that silly question. ;p Hubby replied," Awak kata pancakes tadi?" I was speechless. Yes, I said Pancakes and obviously he could not read my mind kan? I want my scrambled eggs with hot cakes!! isk

Eventually, me and Adam ate 2 of those hotcakes and hubby ate the other one. Burp!

Next stop, at 9am, we went to FairPrice, to do the usual weekly marketing. We love doing our groceries shopping during this hour since there would be less people so it easy to stroll our trolley on the isle. Besides, lots and lots of parking spaces during this time. ;) I bought the usual and off we went home. 

So today, I decided to have a ME-day where I got to spend time with myself. Hubby was so supportive and he willingly to look after Adam while I was busied having my ME-time he he sound so selfish kan? he he

I now declared that today is my BAKING-Day, since I spent almost half day in the kitchen. After we got home, I stuffed all my groceries inside the fridge and off I changed myself into my 'maid' uniform. Then, I did the usual, laundry, cleaning up counter top, washing the dishes, mopping and whatnots. 

After lunch, I decided to bake Macarons.. he he The first batch was a BIG failure. My macarons was flat, as flat as Peris-Hellton-chest ;p 

Now, second attempt.. I'm still in high spirit [high?] to make a perfect macaron..at least near to perfect.. hu hu The clock is almost 9pm..I started at 3pm and now is 9pm.. see, mandi pun tak.. he he bacin dah ni..

result..masih hodoh..macarons with 'skirty' foot.. that's it I gave up..

Thursday Interview 1 + etc

I woke up at 3am, did some blogroll and now the clock is showing 3.33am..scary huh? 
Anyway, back to the interview, I believed I did my best even though somehow deep down inside me, denying it he he he
If the interview was not successful, I'd such an interesting experiences through out the whole journey and the interview process. 
Will write on it in 2 weeks time hehe to be continued...

Hubby was planning to fetch me after the the whole process of interviewing over. Time flew, and the interview took about 2 hours [ it was supposed to be an hour only!] and I was rushing walking the isle towards the jetty to catch up the ferry and I forgot to phone him. 
So I had to wait for him at least for half an hour more. 
Since I'm wearing all black, with a tight head-shawl on my head, I slowly attacked with a headache. The headache was twirling all over my head until it became more severe and I felt like I wanted to throw out but could not do it. It almost made me fainted. [BudakLurpak, camni ke migrain? ke aku seasick?] Luckily, hubby arrived sooner than expected, and I jumped in and took off my head-shawl. It became heavy and heavier by seconds, and I had 2,3 "almost-blackout" incidents. Until we finally got home. Until i slipped off my heels, the blackout feeling was gone. 

Hubby believed the heel made me that way.. hu hu Reason for not buying more heels for me lah tu ;p 

Anyway, I'm okay [with light headache only, no more black out feeling] after I took a couple of paracetamol and rest myself on bed.  

the clock now is 4.44. urgh. I feel like to eat in this odd hours. Can?





P/S: i made a promise to myself to focus on the interview [no blogging this week] until everything was over..

Saturday Prawn Olio

I've been craving for prawn olio spaghetti like forever. I guess it started way back on Ramadhan, where we had one of our Iftar in Thompson Mall's Pizza Hut. I've targeted Spaghetti Olio for my Iftar, but unfortunately it was no longer in the menu. isk isk 
I love Spaghetti Olio and I believed the Pizza Hut's Olio was the best compared to other cafe's or restaurant's I ever tasted. Spaghetti Olio is so simple to make and I like the taste combination of shitake mushroom, prawn, garlic++, Italian herb and salt++.[the ++ means more and more hehe] It is brilliant combination!! And before you eat it, don't forget to dash a bit of red pepper, and parmesan cheese and bacon [if you have any]. 
Yummehs! 
As a follow up for yesterday burnt choc cake, NO, I haven't bake the cake yet. I had a bad headache yesterday and went to sleep early and woke up at 7am and had a bad crave for Spagetti Olio.[take a breath, o o ayat padat

Friday Burnt Baby Burnt

My baking mojo was rise and shine at 5am in the morning. he he I baked a chocolate cake at 6am.. I can't wait for the cake to be ready, since my real intention is to learn how to make the butter cream frosting. 

Unfortunately, baking disaster happened, the cake burnt after 10 mins i put it in the oven. Reason: I put the the the "top burning"  only instead of switching it to "both top and below burning" [what's the real term eh? I forgot lah]. 
The whole nighbourhood must be awake with the chocolaty cake and  burnt smells haha Never mind, the whole idea was to learn to do the frosting.. But shorten the long story behind this disaster, the cake was not "okay" to be iced. I'll try to baked another cake tonight. Let's see if I succeed in my attempt to make my own butter cream frosting.

Tuesday Apple Crumble Pie

We were having our breakfast, me and Adam, and it is an old habit of mine to watch TV while doing the chewing and munching business.and it is slowly pass to Adam now.. isk..we were watching Martha Stewart show and she was making a blueberry crumble pie and it looked soo yummeh.. 
I didn't have a blueberry farm [duh?] or a canned blueberry, so instead of using one, I chose to turned my filling to apple filling instead. The rest of the ingredients are still based on Martha Stewart Blueberry Crumble Pie recipe. HERE for the recipe. It's the easiest pie ever hu hu But mind the temperature, I believed the temperature should be 350 F rather than 350 degree.. It burnt my pie a bit, luckily I managed to save it before it burnt the whole pie/house.. 
For the apple filing, I just diced 2 apples and put aside. In a pan, melt 3 tbsp of butter , then pour 3 tbsp of sugar and 1tsp of cinnamon sugar. Mixed well and put the diced apples in the pan.. Cook until the apple becomes tender and pour over the cornstarch flour [about 4 tbsp or more] and mix until the filling thicken. This filling recipe is based on my own basic baking instinct.. agak-agak..but it turned out well.. 

The taste? The sweet apple sauce mixed with the crunchy buttery crumbles with a flaky pastry below.. That's enough to describe the taste of this pie. I love it.. Pretty sure will do it again and this recipe is totally a keeper!


Tuesday Egg Mayo in Pita Bread + etc


I woke up early today with a high spirit to prepare hubby lunch. Rushing to the bathroom to do the morning usual then off to the kitchen. Started with the star ingredient which is the egg, and worked the sandwich till the end. Suddenly I remembered that hubby is supposed to go clinic to check his feet. There's a high chance that he'll be getting his MC today.. Nevertheless, I continued packed his lunch and turned to other chores.

at 10+, I was absolutely right. The doctor gave him 2 days off and hubby broke his no-MC record! he he And had his brunch cum lunch right after he got home. thee..

Monday Rosy Rolled Ham in Pita Bread


I've challenged myself to prepare hubby's lunch for a week.. Simply because I love to have 'something' to look forward to beside taking care of Adam and other house chores.. I just want to add something to my routine job.. So I will prepare lunch for him, and I set a week time as trial.  And the menu will consist of sandwiches only since Hubby is not keen to have a heavy lunch himself. Hmm..he always skipped breakfast, had a late lunch and eat a horse at dinner ;p

So today, as a start, I'd prepared "Rosy Rolled Ham in Pita Bread".. it's just  a simple ham sandwiched basically but I rolled the ham, so it would looked like a rose bud.. At least to me he he.. 

Other than that, I desperately want to lose some kilos, so I'm going to skip some rice for a while and take more protein instead of carb.. So bye -bye carb..

On the interview, I'm now preparing my self for it. Googling here and there, just to recall few technical stuff and my brain is working really slow nowadays!!.. I should do more reading, Sudoku, and perhaps writing..

Saturday So-called Picnic +etc

We woke up early today since we'd planned to do some shopping and picnic the whole day. Since I'm clueless on what i'm gonna wear for the interview, and since Mark &Spencer is on SALE he he, we straightly headed to Vivocity since it's the largest M&S store in island wide. [phew..so many since  words] 

After had spent 1.5 hours in the fitting room, I noticed how i really miss my shopping buddy.. It was really tiring to do the fitting session alone.. The promoter lady in the M&S store was not helpful at all.. How I wish my Shopping Buddy was there to help me, and I'm soo need of those straight-to-the-face comments when I tried those clothes..Sigh  I just settled in with a long black pant size dot dot.. ;p

Then, we walked to Toy 'R Us to check new toys for Adam and ended up buying a big buggy car for him.. he he Adam is totally into that car now! and me, being a silly mom, broke the honk on the same day we bought it.. Silly me..[ I pressed the honk twice then it kaput..daaa?]

We brought Adam and his new car to the airport. Yes, we plan to have a so-called picnic in the viewing mall inside the airport. Why airport? Simply because we wanted to show Adam how big the Boeing Seven oh Seven and AirBusses are. he he Earlier, we planned to show him, how the planes take off/landing, but there's no such views in CHANGI Airport  hehe , we just settled with the planes slowly move on it path to the 'parking lot'. Hopefully, Adam knows that airplanes do fly, not moving slowly using 3 small tires to get to its destination.. he he

We got home at 6+, and I re-heat my Daging masak Kicap Manis for 3 of us dinner. I used corned beef for the dish.. hahaha.. It turned out well.. HERE the recipe for the Sweet Soy Sauce beef..

Friday Crepes


I made this crepes for yesterday minum petang. Adam ate half of it.. and mommy ate 2 of it.. isk.. This crepes is based on Rima's Motif Kuih Dadar recipe. I made a swirl motive for the choc base and pour the off-white batter on top.. Definitely will make this for any pot luck.. ;)
